FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is lifestyle therapy?
Lifestyle therapy is a custom therapeutic lifestyle change program that combines nutrition, exercise and stress relief so each part supports the others. It starts with testing, so your program is built around how your own body works. You learn skills you keep for life, not just a temporary plan.
How is it different from a personal trainer, dietitian or health coach?
Most approaches focus on one piece, like workouts or food, or give general advice. Lifestyle therapy works on nutrition, fitness and stress together, harnessing your full power for fast results. Each component profoundly affects the others. You learn through experience how your body works and how to keep the results you earn.
Who is lifestyle therapy for?
Adults who want more energy, to lose weight and keep it off, to keep up with family and the things they love to do, or to reduce or reverse a lifestyle-related condition like type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure. Many of our clients are first responders and their families, ages 40 to 60. Our oldest graduate is 107.
Can lifestyle therapy help with diseases like, type 2 diabetes?
Yes. Research shows lifestyle changes can improve, and often reverse, type 2 diabetes and other lifestyle-related conditions. In one major study, nearly half of participants put their type 2 diabetes into remission within a year (DiRECT trial, The Lancet). Many of our clients have improved their labs and their energy in as little as two weeks. We encourage you to keep working with your doctor throughout your program.
Do I need to stop my medications or leave my doctor?
No. Lifestyle therapy works alongside your medical care. Some clients improve and need a medication reduction in as little as two weeks. That’s why we encourage you to keep your doctor informed, so they can help monitor and make any necessary medication changes.
Is it virtual or in person?
Programs are live-virtual, so you can work with us from anywhere by phone, tablet or laptop. No special app is needed. We also hold in-person health events and retreats; see our Events page.
How does it work?
- Book an Initial Testing & Results session (1 hour 40 minutes, $269).
- Together we use your results to design a custom program, usually 3 to 8 weeks.
- Start your program. Many clients feel results in as little as two weeks.
How much does it cost?
Initial Testing & Results is $269. Custom programs range from $389 to $4,995, depending on length and your needs. Payment plans are available. Ongoing support afterward is optional, for clients who want continued fitness sessions or have more complex health needs.
How do I pay? Do you take insurance, HSA or FSA?
We accept debit, credit, check and cash. We don’t bill insurance. Some HSA or FSA accounts may cover services; check with your account provider.
I’m a first responder and my schedule is unpredictable. Can this work for me?
Yes. Programs are designed around real-life demands, including shift work, travel, and the physical stress of the job. Sessions are virtual and by appointment, so you can have a session wherever you have Wi-Fi or cell service.
Who is lifestyle therapy right for?
We specialize in working with adults who don’t need hands-on assistance.
